How it works?:- A water softener is packed with resin beads. Each of these beads is "charged"
with regenerant. Hard water with calcium and magnesium flows through this
resin and, in a process called ion exchange, the hardness ions in the water trade
places with soft ions on the resin beads. The result is soft water.
Hard Water contains dissolved minerals, such as calcium and magnesium.
These "hard" minerals can leave your hair and skin feeling dry and itchy; cause
your dishes to spot; and even damage home appliances over time. They're
problems you don't have to live with. |

Whole House Water Filtration Systems |

|
Whole house water filter systems have a capacity for significantly higher flow rates than
point-of-use systems. They are an ideal choice for homes affected by heavy sediment
problems as a whole house system will prevent contaminant build up from damaging water
heaters and soiling laundry or dishes, in addition to creating clean drinking water. Whole
house water filters also provide an opportunity to treat certain special contaminants such as
iron (iron filter) or microbes such as bacteria and viruses (whole house ultraviolet system).
On the other hand, if it is suspected that your home's plumbing system may be contributing
contaminants to your water supply, you should lean towards point-of-use filtration/purification, at least for your drinking water.
A whole house filter system is comprised of at least one filter housing, at least one filter
cartridge, and a spanner wrench (included w/ housing). We generally recommend that a
whole house water filtration system be comprised of two housings in series. The first serves
as a course sediment filter to rid the water of large particles and sediment (sand, dirt, debris,
etc.). The second (usually an activated carbon filter) provides finer filtration and absorbs
chlorine and other contaminants that effect water taste and odor. Additional elements can be
added to the system to reduce/remove special contaminants such as iron, manganese and
hydrogen sulfide (iron / Hydrogen sulfide reduction filter) or bacteria (Whole House
Ultraviolet (UV) System).
